Purbeck International Chamber Music Festival 2025
The Purbeck International Chamber Music Festival returns from 4th to 7th September 2025, offering outstanding chamber music in the heart of Dorset’s beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Curated by acclaimed cellist Natalie Clein, the festival invites exceptional musicians from the UK and abroad to perform in intimate, historic settings across Purbeck.
Since its beginnings in 2009, the Festival has grown into an annual highlight, bringing together international stars and a dedicated audience. An emphasis on nurturing young talent remains central, with family concerts and events for young musicians each year.
Concert Highlights Include:
Concert 1 | Love of the Cello: Discover the stories of cellos lost and found with Natalie Clein and author Kate Kennedy, drawn from Kennedy’s acclaimed book Cello: A Journey through Silence to Sound.
Concert 7 | Eros, Mania, Nostalgia – Tango Extravaganza: Experience Ligeti’s Cello Sonata reimagined with dancer Selene Muñoz, plus a Tango Extravaganza that will set hearts racing.
Pub Session: Join festival musicians for an informal jam at the legendary Square & Compass pub.
Family Concert: Sunday’s family concert welcomes all ages with joyful performances, student collaborations and audience participation.
